Reichstag of Solace
The Anti-Occult Section of The Office of Strategic Services is the American counterpart to the Anti-Paranormal Activities Division of The UK’s Secret Intelligence Service. Unlike the APA, which takes its agents from the regular SIS and puts them through a training program designed by The Customs Agency, AOS-OSS recruits its agents from OSS personnel and outsiders who have had run-ins with the supernatural on some level. While they lack the polish of the APA agents, they all have some form of practical experience to guide them along with a smattering of OSS training and good old fashioned Yankee-knowhow.
Like their future successor agency the CIA, and unlike the SIS whose very existence is classified, the OSS is a publicly acknowledged organization whose activities are highly classified. The AOS, however, is totally black. Classified OSS records show any agents who are actually AOS as detached to Project 4. Unlike the APA which answers directly to its Chief Executive, the head of the OSS, General Donovan, is trusted to manage the AOS directly. He does, however, still make sure to keep President Roosevelt fully briefed.
